The roots of Deck13
Deck13's successful management team has been busy in the games market since 1997. It all started on the exotic Acorn RiscPC platform which was kind of popular in the UK in the 1990s but also without good games. A company called Artex Software quickly changed this and created best sellers with titles like "Exodus - The Colonisation of Space".
Stealth Combat
In 2001, the Deck13 Interactive GmbH was founded, and some time later the tactical shooter Stealth Combat® was released for the PC (see review). The vehicle based action game was the first real challenge for Deck13. And it was mastered and paved the way for further promising projects.
Artex: The Budget Label
Besides Deck13's Full Price titles, the brand Artex Software was kept and today produces challenging budget and special interest games. Recently, the titles Ski Resort Tycoon and Carnival Cruise Lines Tycoon have been released in cooperation with Activision.
